Where the February 2027 PC claim came from, and why we still call it a rumour
One post, three replies, and a date that is now on dozens of sites. Every repetition leads back to the same origin, and the origin does not hold.
A PC version of GTA 6 has not been announced. The 19 November release covers PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, the only two platforms Rockstar names, and Rockstar restated that date around the 27 August Extended Look without adding one.
The February 2027 figure entered circulation through a single social account. That account contacted more than ninety people and drew three replies. Those three replies are the entire evidentiary base of a date that has since been repeated across dozens of sites, several of which cite each other rather than the origin.
A date with one source still has one source, however many times it is repeated.
This is the difference between our four stamps and a traffic light. Reported means a named publication puts its own name to the claim. Rumour means one origin, repeated. Repetition is not corroboration, and no amount of it moves a claim up.
Why the claim sounds plausible
Rockstar has shipped PC versions late before, and the gap has been consistent enough to feel like a rule. That is what gives a made-up date somewhere to land: it sounds like the pattern, so nobody checks whether anyone said it.
Reasonable is not sourced. A pattern tells you what is likely, not what is scheduled.
Where this sits
The wider PC question, what Rockstar and Take-Two have actually said, what the port history supports, and what would move the answer, is covered in is there a GTA 6 PC version, and when could it realistically land. This page is about one claim and where it came from.
One update belongs here, because the two get merged in repetition. On 13 October 2026 GamesBeat reported, from four unnamed industry sources, that the PC version is planned for the first quarter of 2027. February falls inside that quarter, but it is a different claim with a different origin, and it does not corroborate this one: it names no month. Our register carries it as its own entry, graded reported, and the February post stays a rumour.
The answer itself lives on the status board, and it moves to confirmed the day Rockstar or Take-Two says it. A February date would move up from rumour the day a named publication puts its own name to it. Until then the honest answer is that we do not know.
